Sleep. For those people who find falling asleep a breeze and wake feeling refreshed and invigorated the next morning, sleep is a pleasant period of their lives that they do not need to put much thought or time into. For those unfortunate people who suffer from a sleep disorder, sleep is a stressful and elusive beast that haunts them. Lack of sleep or unsatisfying sleep can lead to a wide number of physical and emotional ailments, including depression, hallucinations, anxiety and malaise. Fortunately, there are some relatively simple and painless methods of improving both the quality and quantity of sleep.
Diet is one of the most effective and easy ways of improving sleep. Our bodies are complex systems and what we put into them can have a massive effect on the quality of our sleep. While there are a number of substances that make sleeping more difficult and less satisfying, like caffeine and alcohol, there are also some food and drink types that help us to get to sleep and make that sleep far more refreshing. One of these is miso soup. Miso soup comes from Japan and is made from soy. Miso contains amino acids, which help boost the production of melatonin, which is a natural hormone that helps make us tired.
