If you are falling asleep at work then this is a sign that you are not sleeping well. Obviously falling asleep on the job is a bad look no matter what you do but for some people there is not just a risk of getting fired but also far bigger health and safety issues.
Imagine the person is a doctor or nurse and they are supposed to check on patients following an operation. Falling asleep could mean the difference between life and death for their patients. Same goes for people who operate heavy machinery-- truck drivers, crane operators and ferry captains. If these people are not getting enough sleep and are falling asleep on the job then they are putting themselves and others at risk.
If you find that you are constantly tired and fall asleep at work then you need to take a long hard look at your sleep habits and cycle. If you aren’t getting around 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night then you need to do remedy this. Develop positive sleep habits and you will be able to sleep better. Create a good sleep environment-- dark, quiet and warm-- and you will find it easier to get to sleep and to stay asleep.
Do it for your own job and do it for the others around you.
