How to power nap effectively Part II

05-12-2012

Now a power nap probably sounds like something out of the 1980s but the reality is that they are a great way of giving yourself a boost during the day if you feel somewhat tired. In this two part series we will show you how you can get the most out of your power napping.

4. Stop thinking. At the start, your mind will race -- maybe for the entire "nap." It is not something that comes naturally to most of us so focus on a single word or intently listen to the music, whatever helps you relax. Remember, power naps take practice.
5. Don’t feel bad. For many people trying to sleep at work feels bad, but the reality is that after a 20 minute power nap you will be more alert and productive than you were before. Just remember to tell the boss what you are doing first so you don’t wake to a pink slip!
6. Coffee is your friend. When you wake up you want to hit the floor running so give yourself a boost with some caffeine, it will wake you up in no time and get all those neurons firing.

Good luck and happy power napping!
