Edamame A Super Sleep Food

07-12-2011

Sleep is so important to our well being but for many people it is a real struggle to get to sleep and to have a satisfying and fulfilling night’s sleep. Even going one night without enough sleep is bad and long term sleep disorders can wreck havoc on people’s lives, leading to depression, anxiety, weight loss and numerous other physical and psychological conditions. People who struggle with sleep disorders can become increasingly desperate and disconnected from live, luckily, though, there are a number of relatively easy and effective methods that can help improve both the quality and quantity of our sleep.

Diet and sleep are intimately connected, what we eat and drink can have positive and negative consequences on our sleeping patterns. While there are a number of different food and drink types that are detrimental to sleep, like fatty foods and caffeine, there are also a wide number of food and drink types that help us to get to sleep and improve the quality of our sleep. One of these is edamame.

Edamame is a Japanese snack of salted soy beans. It is absolutely delicious and has been found to help people get to sleep. Edamame has high levels of a natural estrogen like compound that helps to moderate and smooth your sleep cycle.
