For most of us, dreaming is a random and uncontrollable process. Most nights the dreams seem totally out of our control and we are usually only aware that they were even dreams after we wake up. However, on occasion, we will be aware that we are dreaming while we are dreaming. This awareness give us a degree of control over the dreamscape that we wouldn’t normally have. These are called lucid dreams and are often extremely fun.
While generally speaking, you cannot decide when to lucid dream, there is a brain hack that enables people to control their lucid dreaming. Brains are a lot like computers and, just like computers, if you know enough you can reprogramme your brain. Brain hacking, as it is often called, is when you reprogramme your brain to allow you to do new and amazing things.
The way to control lucid dreaming is fairly simple. First you need to keep a dream journal, taking note of everything that you can remember about your dreams when you wake up. Also, when you go to sleep you need to focus on the type of dreams you want to have.
The more you do this, homing in on understanding your dreams and logging them, the more you can control over the process. After a while, you will find that you are able to lucid dream all the time.
