Assess your sleep

25-06-2013

It is amazing how many of us will just keep plodding on with life, never assessing or analysing what we could do better. There are so many simple adjustments and changes that we could make that would make our lives much better, yet many people will never make these, they will continue on the same trajectory.

Take your sleep. This is a fundamental aspect of your physical and psychological well being yet when was the last time you thought about how well you are sleeping and what you could do to improve it? Spend some time now and maybe you can make a positive change in your life.

You need to assess your sleep. How much are you getting each night? What time do you go to bed and get up? Do you wake feeling refreshed or tired? How quickly do you fall asleep?

Most people need around 7 hours sleep every night. However, just as important, you should be going to bed around the same time every night and getting up at the same time. Sticking to a routine is one of the best things you can do for your sleep health. It should take between 10 and 20 minutes to go to sleep, if you go straight to sleep or take ages, this could be a sign of a sleeping disorder.

Assess your sleep and you could change your life.
