Are You Exercising Enough? Your Sleep Might Be Affected

19-10-2011

There is nothing nicer than sliding into bed at the end of a long day and drifting off to sleep. It is an incredibly satisfying and fulfilling way to end a day and for most of us, it is an easy and stress free process. For some people though, there is nothing easy or stress free about it. For these people, getting into bed is the beginning of a battle that they have to fight each and every night. It is a battle just to get to sleep. There is nothing easy about falling asleep for these people.

Insomnia can be caused by any number of different problems, from physical issues such as light deprivation right through to depression and anxiety. The key to curing insomnia is knowing why you have it.

One problem that many people do not associate with insomnia is lack of exercise. It is so obvious when you think about it, but it is rarely connected. Doing exercise makes you tired. In the past, humans did far more exercise than we do now. For many people, they struggle to get to sleep because they haven’t done enough exercise in the day.

If you are having trouble sleeping, try exercise. Just don’t do it too close to bedtime.
