Which memory foam mattress?

So you've made the decision to go for a memory foam mattress - but with such a wide choice available now online it can be a difficult choice selecting which one to buy. As with most products, there's a massive variation in quality between the best and worst on the market - but there aren't quite as many products that can have such a direct influence on your health and wellbeing as a mattress, so it's really important to make an informed decision.
First of all be wary of the lower end of the market, which is saturated with lots of attractively cheap prices but absolutely nothing that could be considered quality. Buying one of the poorer quality memory foam mattresses means that you'll end up with something that doesn't provide the performance you were expecting and will need to be replaced far quicker than a higher quality alternative that perhaps seemed too expensive at the time. As well as the numerous cheap low-grade mattress options you can now also buy memory foam toppers - single layers that are positioned on top of pocket-sprung mattresses. Although memory foam toppers do offer a comfortable addition to traditional mattresses, they cannot provide the same levels of support as a good quality memory foam mattress and therefore should never be classed as a like-for-like alternative.
At the upper end of the memory foam mattress market you'll naturally find the premium offerings, along with a sharp incline in prices. There are a select number of long established memory foam names that command the highest prices for their mattress ranges. While many of the high-end manufacturers produce excellent quality memory foam mattresses they invariably come at a price point that simply isn’t accessible to the average consumer.
