How Can I Choose The Right Bed For My Mattress?

24-01-2011

So, you have got a mattress you really like, but you need to get a new bed? Well, you need to put some time and energy into finding the right bed for your mattress. If you get the wrong frame then you may damage your mattress or you may not even be able to use it. The following is a quick guide showing you how to get the right bed for you mattress.

Step One: You need to measure your mattress. This may sound obvious, but it is no good assuming it is a queen and then discovering it is a super queen, after you have bought the bed. Try to be as accurate as you can be, this will allow you to work out whether it will fit the frame.

Step Two: Make sure you know what type of mattress you have. Is it a spring, normal foam or memory foam? If you have a spring mattress then you will need to get a bed with a solid base, whereas if you have a foam mattress you can get a bed that has slats. If you get a slat bed with a spring mattress then you will find it lumpy and uneven.

Step Three: Make sure that the bed will enable enough airflow under the mattress, as otherwise it could go mouldy.
