There are a range of memory foam mattresses on the market, ranging from incredibly cheap options all the way up to luxury models that will set you back thousands of dollars. With all that choice, finding a great quality memory foam mattress has become both harder and easier.
Harder in that there are far more choices, easier in that there are more quality mattresses out there, as long as you know what you are looking for.
The key indicator regarding memory foam mattress quality is density. A good memory foam mattress needs to be of high enough density to support your body. Lower quality mattresses generally have about a one kg density, mid quality ones have about a two kg density while the higher quality mattresses will have around a three kg density. Not only will the lower density foam not support you as well, it will not last as long either.
Another thing to look out for when looking for a quality memory foam mattress is temperature sensitivity. You want a mattress that will change its shape in response to your body heat. While all real memory foam should do this, there are some mattresses on the market which are promoted as being memory foam, yet do not have this property. Watch out for these.
