Memory Foam And Prevention Of Bed Sores And Gangrene

21-03-2011

Bed sores and gangrene are awful conditions that can cause incredible pain and discomfort, especially when you are in bed, which is why you need to have the best possible mattress you can get.

Both ailments are connected to circulatory system problems and effective amelioration and rejuvenation require that everything that improves circulation should be implemented. Bed sores develop as a result of constant pressure on a particular part of the body, generally on elbows and heels. As the blood stops flowing, the top layer of the skin will die. As it gets worse, the problem goes deeper into the body. Gangrene, which is far more serious than bed sores, is usually the result of a critically insufficient blood supply and generally occurs in the lower extremities. As the blood supply is reduced the affected part of the body tissue begins to die and the effected person risks death.

Memory foam mattresses are the best bedding for circulation problems because they reduce the pressure on the body when you sleep meaning that your circulation system has as little resistance to work against while you sleep. Memory foam moulds itself to your individual body shape and adjusts itself as you move meaning that you will not develop any pressure points that create blockages and restrictions of your circulation system.
