How your mattress affects your sleep

02-12-2012

We all know the feeling of sleepless nights spent tossing, turning and the exhausted mornings that follow but did you know that sleeping on the right mattress can really help to alleviate these horrible problems and remind you what it feels like to be truly rested? It is now commonly known that mattresses really do matter when it comes to getting a good night's sleep.

The thing is for too long people have been content to sleep on any old mattress they have, largely because most of the different choices weren’t that great in the first place. Thirty years ago you only had several choices, neither of them very good.
Springs and foam are as bad as each other, one tries to stick a metal spike in your during the night and the other develops a mirror image of your body straight away and then won’t let you sleep in any other position ever again.

Fortunately, that has all changed now thanks to memory foam. Memory foam has outperformed every other mattress material in numerous independent tests both for comfort and support. The reason that this space aged material is so good is that it is able to mould itself to the sleeper’s unique body shape and position each and every night, providing a bespoke cradle to sleep in.
